Hardware Special Interest Group
Rules of Play
#1: In order to work on your computer at the Hardware SIG,
you must first get permission to attend from the SIG leader, Doug Hood. To do that,
you may email him at Doug@pmaco.com,
or call him at (503) 230-9355. Permission will not be granted to persons whom are
not members of the club, though non-members are welcome and even encouraged to attend
the SIG with the hopes of learning something from watching work being done on member's
computers.
|
#2: All services at the Hardware SIG are free of charge and
guaranteed to be worth no less than that price. That is the *only* guarantee you'll
get. Everything that happens during your session at the SIG is at your risk up to
and including polluting that atmosphere with burnt wire insulation. During the SIG,
you'll be doing the work on your computer while being closely supervised by a variety
of jovial and knowledgable club members with multiple hundreds of repaired computers
to their credit (most have a half a dozen smoked and ruined computers to their credit
as well :). Any software and hardware that you'll need for the repair or upgrade
you want to do at the SIG you have to supply, neither the PPCUG as a whole nor any
member of it are responsible for the outcome of your session.
|
#3: The Hardware SIG "operates" from 10a to 2p
on Fourth Saturday of each month and is staffed 100% by volunteers that are giving
away their time and expertise. That means that we shut down operations at 2:00pm
clean up the space and go on to other aspects of our lives. Since very few hardware
related operations can be accomplished in much less than two hours, we will not
start any project that arrives after 11:00am. PMAco975seSandyBv
